LA LIADA
Social Ride JUNE 2026
Some rides are created to add kilometres. Others become stories worth telling.
LA LIADA was one of those days that reminded us why gravel is so much more than just another cycling discipline. Organised together with Víctor from Galician Gravel Cycling (@galiciangravelcycling), and supported by WACO Coffee, ZARA Athleticz, Casas Novas, and Angel Cycle Works, it brought together nearly seventy riders from across Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria, all sharing the same goal: getting lost for a few hours on two wheels.
The ride began at Casas Novas, just outside A Coruña. A personal initiative by David from ZARA Athleticz, this remarkable venue became the perfect place to bring the community together and set the tone for what would become an unforgettable day.
Much of the day’s success was thanks to Víctor from Galician Gravel Cycling (@galiciangravelcycling), who once again showed why his rides have become a benchmark within the Spanish gravel community. Behind every route lies countless hours of unseen work, and the experience always speaks for itself.
Back at the finish, the ride naturally evolved into something more. Specialty coffee from WACO Coffee, freshly baked focaccias, shared food, Estrella Galicia beers, gifts for the riders, and copies of VOLATA Magazine meant nobody was in a hurry to leave.
Because the best rides never really end when you step off the bike.
We like to think that’s exactly what LA LIADA was: an excuse to bring together people who, only a few hours earlier, had been complete strangers, and who left having shared kilometres, conversations and plenty of laughter.
From everyone at ANGEL, we’d like to thank all those who made this day possible. To Víctor and the entire Galician Gravel Cycling team, to David and ZARA Athleticz, to Casas Novas for opening their doors, to WACO Coffee for bringing both the coffee and the atmosphere, to Estrella Galicia, to VOLATA, and above all, to every rider who chose to be part of this wonderful little chaos.
Because, in the end, things happened. A lot of people. Intense heat. Real gravel.
A proper LIADA. And that’s exactly what made it unforgettable.
